MLM – Multi Level Marketing Explained
If you are looking for a home based business and are considering MLM, you should understand what it actually is before investing your time and money. You should also understand the down sides and the upsides because when you go to a presentation, they usually just focus on the upsides and do not reveal the down. One thing for sure is that it is not the most morally grounded business. The ones who eventually succeed and make it to the top, will earn their money from the ones who try and fail at it.
It is a complex business illusion that defies the average man or woman’s ability to properly evaluate and envisage. It’s structure is based on the growth of an infinite distributor group which logically is not possible to sustain. Not just a simple marketing structure, most MLMs have common qualities and the simplest way to identify one is to see whether a distributor is trying to recruit unlimited people which means unlimited competition and also failure.
One of the typical schemes is defined often by the way it relies on a progression of geometric proportions or mathematical concepts. Progressions such as these are a basis for schemes that are illegal such as the infamous chain letter or pyramid.
The schemes reward the distributor and his upline members with financial rewards for the distributor’s introduction on new members into his own group. These new members are required to buy products each month so they can qualify for their recruiting commissions when they recruit people under them.
The potential for any individual to be rewarded high depends on their performance with their own recruiting. Therefore, the key to any person’s success in the business is recruiting. This idea is referred to also as leveraging and is what the promise of getting rich quick is with Multi Level Marketing.
Mostly, you are financially rewarded for how many products you sell to other people and this is usually legally required within the business. Usually, you sell products through loyalty programs and combined with the requirement to locate others to duplicate what you do, it can lead to exhaustion and a lot of time spent.
People might get rich from recruiting but they will barely make a living from the retailing side. At first you will probably be working very hard and not making any money at all. The fact that it is usually easy to start up, you have a mistaken belief that you can create several income streams. The products can be very expensive and you get caught up in not determining whether they will be cheaper to buy at a store because you are desperate to succeed. The failure rate is very high with a business like this one so be sure it’s really what you want before starting up.
