Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit Government Grants (Great Basin CESU)
There are business grants for women for a number of pursuits. First of all, you could get a government grant from the Department of the Interior in order to investigate how humans are affecting the fauna and flora found in the Mojave Desert, studying the consequences and analyzing your findings to come up with a conclusion.
This project aims to help members of the CESU and the US Geological Survey cooperate and provide spatial models for several dozen Mojave Desert species, created using remote sensing of the landscape and its attributes.
All put together, you can use those predictive models to check out what the impact might be of starting to use alternate energy sources, and also see how it affects climate change; you can also learn how some species overlap by investigating genetic diversity.
With this work in spatial modeling, you will be able to check out the distribution of species, as well as habitat connectivity when stacked against human interference in the Mojave.
We will really need these findings in order to find out the best course of action regarding how to operate within the Mojave Desert.
Federal land managers and their compatriots will be able to use the information that you provide to figure out where to place habitats for several Mojave Desert species.
You will be able to give them the correct GIS information on social data layers for the modeling.
QA/QC can provide a lot of the work inherent in this particular duty, as you will need to use those for the analyses and compare them with the work that is there now.
We can actually use those layers of data to look at the Mojave Desert’s ecosystem and solve a number of problems that may have arisen.
Resource managers will need academics and government scientists to work together in order to complete this project effectively.
The Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) is providing this chance for financial assistance.
CESUs offer education, tech help, and research for scientists of every discipline.
If you are eligible, you have to be registered with the CESU program of the Great Basin.
